Starting next month, viewers across the country will get a front-row seat at The Loveless Barn as the celebrated "Music City Roots" weekly concert series and radio show heads to public television.

"Music City Roots: Live From The Loveless Cafe" will premiere its 13-week season at 7 p.m. Fri. September 13 on Nashville Public Television. The series is also set to air on public television stations across the country - a press release states that the show has received commitments from TV markets covering more than 60% of U.S. households, including stations in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and Washington, D.C.

Since 2009, "Roots" has provided a weekly showcase for a variety of roots acts -- encompassing bluegrass, Americana, folk, rock, blues and more -- many of which hail from Middle Tennessee.

In a release, Nashville Public Television's Justin Harvey called the upcoming series "a dream come true for us and for all the Middle Tennesseans who have contacted and talked with us over the years about the need to showcase Nashville’s extraordinary roots music talent to the nation."

The first season of the series will feature performances from Bobby Bare and Leon Russell, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale and Robin & Linda Williams among many others. The first 12 episodes are "condensed looks" at individual "Roots" concerts from 2012, while the season finale will feature musical highlights of 2013.

Those in the Nashville area can see "Music City Roots" in person - the show takes place Wednesday nights at The Loveless Barn - and listen live on Nashville's Hippie Radio (94.5 FM) and online at www.musiccityroots.com
